Hi friends my name is Cookie. I'm here to let you all know that I'm finally Ready for my forever home. Yayyy But, first I'd like to tell you my story and how I became rescued. Well 5 months ago me, my brother and sister were born to a beautiful dog that I named mommy. Even though we were very very poor and living on the streets I still felt loved and safe with my mommy. Because we were so poor mommy would have to leave us every day to go find food and when she returned our bellies were full again. Oh, how I loved my mommy. Life was scary on the streets of TJ Mexico, there were fast and loud cars and the people never stopped to say hi. Little by little my brothers and sisters were disappearing and my mommy became very sad because she couldn't find them. One day a stranger came by and just took me from my mommy and tied me to a chain. No matter how hard I tried to show him what a good girl I was he would still be angry and hurt me. He wouldn't feed me much and he would hit me all the time and when I cried because I missed my mommy it would get worse. I don't know how, but one day I got away from him, but he chased me and hit me so hard with something really sharp that it split my face open. That was the scariest day of my life. My screams were so loud that people came out to see me and when this one lady saw that I was bleeding she picked me up and yelled a lot at my owner and took me away from him. Even though I was scared and wanted to go back she held me tight and comforted me until I fell asleep. When I woke up she gave me food and water, but I couldn't eat because my face hurt so bad. Then she called someone and then said my rescue wants me to take you to a vet. "You're safe now baby girl don't you worry " Oh no, now I was really scared, what's a vet?? When we got to the vet they came out and carried me away from the nice lady and started checking me all over. The vet called the nice lady in and said, she's skinny, but healthy, then as the lady held me they started cleaning my face from the blood and put cream and gave me medicine that made me feel a lot better. I've been to the vet a few times now for exams and vaccines and you know it's really not so bad. It's been a few weeks now and I'm really happy!! I feel so much better, so I get to play with my doggie friends and I've discovered that I like kitty cats too. Lol, now my rescue tells me that I'm ready for my own forever home in sunny San Diego. So if you have a home with a yard and a secured 6 foot fence and would love to meet me please go to tlck9rescue.org and apply for me Cookie.
