Isn't Kanw cutest!! I believe he's a Podenco Mix. What a beautiful and rare breed here in San Diego. You would never imagine that he was wondering the streets by himself with no mommy or siblings in site. We found out later that he was from a hoarding situation with 30 other starving dogs including his mom and siblings. The person that had all the dogs is in her 80's and was hospitalized with dementia. By the time we found out about the situation and that his mom and siblings are there too. We went there the very next morning with our Vet. Sadly his mother had a severe seizure just before we arrived and we found her dead when we got there. None of his siblings were found either. I don't even want to think about what happened to them. The other dogs are being cared for and fed until we can find help from other rescues. Kane, is still a little underweight, but with lots of extra TLC, good food and continuous vetting he'll grow just beautiful He's been in quarantine for a month and he's doing great. He has received some vaccines and will need a couple more soon.
