Max's story; A friend and long time supporter Victoria, messaged me last night saying that she intercepted 2 puppies from some back yard breeder here in our community. She couldn't stand the thought that they were being given away for free. She feared they could end up in the wrong hands. She said, the owner told her they were 9 weeks old. But I disagreed and said, they don't look like they are more than 5 weeks old which is too soon to take them away from their mom. She asked me a few questions and asked what should she feed them so of course I gave her some advice. All along I was thinking she's going to keep these precious babies, but then she dropped a bomb on me. She said; They are in my bedroom in the bath tub Mother is a Chihuahua, father is a Cockapoo I named them Miss May & Max Will the EHS (Escondido Humane Society) take them in as strays if a say I found them? Yes in Escondido, would prefer you to have the puppies but didn’t think you had space that’s why I thought of the EHS Omg these puppies are so freaking cute I wish I could keep them but not safe for them where I live I don’t have a backyard with a fence and coyotes and turkey vultures are near my house. OMG VICTORIA GOOD ONE! YOU JUST SCARED THE HECK OUT OF ME. (See video of turkey vulture) Well the rest is history. TLC K9 Rescue just took in 2 more puppies. Even though Victoria is a very loving person she knows her home is not a safe place for them to be in so Max and his sister are now in foster care. They have already been to the vet for their first exam and are doing well. They received a bath, dewormer and flea treatment. They will be ready for adoption at the end of June.
